How To Protect Your Childs Teeth
Parents have many things to worry about when considering their child's
health. One of those things is their dental health. Here are a few tips on
caring for your child's teeth.
See the Dentist Often
Children should see the dentist every 6 months
beginning on their first birthday. You want to catch problems early before
they become worse and/or more expensive.
Brush Their Teeth Regularly
It is recommended that you have your child
brush their teeth after every meal or at least twice a day and floss every
day. Start them out early so it becomes a habit.
Stop Thumb Sucking
Try to stop thumb sucking and pacifier sucking
as early as possible after your child reaches age 2. This can greatly
effect how your Childs teeth come in.
Use a Mouth Guard
Make your child use a mouth guard when playing
sports. Its a simple piece of protection that can keep your child from
breaking or losing a tooth.
Watch Their Diet
Try to limit your Childs intake of sugar. Soft
drinks and candy can quickly decay teeth.
See An Orthodontist
See an orthodontist when your Childs adult
teeth start coming in. They should be able to correct problems before they
become worse.
